About Carns:
Marta Carneiro from Braga, Portugal, actually living in her hometown, defines herself not as an artist but as an art lover in a general way.
From Portugal, she´s the rebel result of a mix match between a sailorman (father) and a plastic artist (mother).
The free spirit of her father arouses her the sense of liberty and greatness of the world. By other side the proximity with the art by her mother´s influence wake up on her the necessity to express the way she feels the word by aquarelle paintings.
Her academic formation was totally directed for health, as Biochemistry, in a failed attempt of found some scientific explanation to her emotional questions.
After the main degree she redirected the technical and chemistry knowledge to the textile industry and that was her open door to the fashion world.
The choose of paints as art manifestation was a simple choice only explained by the delicateness of the material that´s a perfect materialization of a feeling. Soft and almost undetectable but at the same time with an assertive impact that are the goals of each painting.

Womans Insight - 2021/2023
This 1st collection - Womans Insight- is composed by exclusive and unique pieces that reflect the education of the artist ruled by woman with strong feminists' influences.
This work translates her vision about the insight beauty of the women, the way they had to be adapted to the modern era, and the emotional adversities that the world input them to overcome.
The aquarelles are directed for those that appreciate the feminin essence and the emotional nature of each one.
Along this collection development´s the major goal was a low key therapy to handle and retrate daily situations from personal experiencies of the author, a kind of emotinal biography portrait lived between 2021 and 2023..
Modern Venus - 2023
The second collection of the artist presents itself as disruptive necessity of increase emotional self-esteem and selfcare after a period of intense changes, challenges and goals that had to be overcome without failures and/or weakness allowed.
Modern Venus it's the manifestation of the lightest and sweetest tastes and passions of modern's woman, without main worries or deep problems. Little cares that satisfy them, big plans that make them dream, curiosities they feel awake about it, beauty and fashion appreciation and vanity are the feelings and moods exalted in this collection.
The tribute of the artist to her 91´s years old grandmother using patchwork technics with pieces of fashion magazines that are the mensal gift to her granddaughter as a periodic reminder that a woman should reserve always a little space for what she loves; In this case: foreign languages, fashion, selfcare, trends, art deco, beauty, makeup tips, new spaces among other things.
The combination of artist´s love heritage with solid materials like canvas, the acrylic pastes, structures and inks, the stencils and other elements with a firm and stronger definition appeared as a show of resolution, lightness, assertivity, positivity, certain and definition about life happiness. The end of the bad road.
This collection revels itself as a tribute to the little pretty things that make an unworried life pretty and are only possible when our strongest, calm and solved version emerge from the chaos. Little pleasures that we can appreciate now.
